Crawley Town Football Club is offering all 16-18-year-olds the chance to work, or study and play at Crawley Town.
Now approaching its third year, the Crawley Town Football and Education Academy looks to be heading for its biggest intake yet, and for 2016-17 we launch our very own Crawley Town Traineeship programme.
The Football and Education programme offers young people aged 16-18 the chance to take part in full-time education, studying a BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport, while being coached by Crawley Town coaches.
Students will have the opportunity of representing our under 19s in a weekly league that will see the club take on the likes of Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Fulham and Reading.
For young people looking to pursue a career in football, the programme offers a unique opportunity for players to access our coaches, facilities and experiences that a professional football club has to offer, and for the first time those good enough will be able to train with the first team.
For those not interested in playing the game, there are opportunities to take on the BTEC programme with a difference.
Chances to gain experience in match analysis, coaching, physiotherapy, media and finance are on offer.
The Traineeship pro-gramme is open to anyone aged 16-18 not in education, employment or training and launches in September.
The unique programme will give young people the amazing experience of working around the football club.
That could be in areas such as hospitality, marketing, media, commentary, photo-graphy, coaching and a whole host of other jobs associated with football, whilst improving their confidence and job skills.
Head of the community foundation Birtug Kazim said: “This is an opportunity of a lifetime for young people wanting to work, or study and play here at Crawley Town.
“Both programmes really bring work and education to life, and has captured the imagination so much so that we expect to treble our intake for 2016-17.”
