Junior captains hope to build on success
Haywards Heath’s junior golf captains Jack Floydd and Maddy Man hope to build on last year’s successes.
Floydd captained Sussex under 16s in 2012 and also played for the under 18 team against Middlesex, Surrey, Essex and Kent, losing only once in his 10 singles matches.
He was third in only his second Order of Merit match (the Winkley Smith Bowl) and helped Sussex beat the Scottish Golf Union Elite squad 5&4 on their own patch.
He has already been picked for the Sussex u18 squad this year and is due to play for the county men’s team in a friendly match against Pycombe in February.
Maddy has been a regular for Sussex junior girls and last year received her county colours. She won her singles match 5&4 as the girls beat Sussex boys.
