Keymer edge derby win
Keymer & Hassocks got the better of Lindfield in the Sussex League East Division derby and it was also a good day for Ansty and Burgess Hill on Saturday.
The visitors made 192-7 thanks largely to Nathan Cooper's 84 and then Michael Poole took 5-22 as Lindfield were dismissed for 156.
Ansty held Hellingly to 215-7, of which Paul McDonald made 57, and then John Newsome hit 83 not out to take his side to a six-wicket win.
Burgess Hill continue to show improved form as they beat Crawley. The hosts started steadily and were looking good when the first wicket fell at 40. They still looked on course for a useful total at 101-3 but then superb bowling from Damien Wolff, who bowled 20 overs straight through to take 4-71, helped bowl them out for 203 out in 50.3.
Hill started in typically dominant fashion with the eighth ball of the innings being put back over the bowlers head for six. The run rate was high and Hill were cruising along at 84-1 off 15 overs as Ben Hopkins (28) and Shaun Kevern (41) did well.
Justin Estreich followed up with a similarly fast paced 46 before skying a full toss straight to backward point but at 149-5 with 20 overs remaining, they still looked the favourites.
Captain Hugh Warmisham fell late on but the brothers Deare saw Hill home for the loss of six wickets with 2.4 overs remaining. Jon Deare finished unbeaten on 34.
It was a low scoring game for leaders Seaford as they were dismissed for just 102 by Chiddingly, Tim Goddard top scoring with 38 as Adrian Breeds took 5-25. But it was enough to give the home side a 16-run win as Chiddingly were rushed out for 86 by Stuart Pulford (5-28).
Sidley had an eight-wicket win at home to Uckfield, whom they dismissed for 195. Luke Forster made 58, while Scott Woodruffe took 4-56, and then Brad Holt cracked 108 not out to make light of the target.
In the West, Henfield gave leaders Billingshurst a run for their money before the top dogs got home by four wickets. Visiting skipper Scott Stratton hit 113 not out as Billingshurst passed a useful Henfield total of 225-8 in which Rob Slaughter made 57.
There was a low scoring game at Arundel, where Phil Ball hit 54 not out to edge Bognor to a six-wicket win after they bowled out the hosts for 102. Graham Bush took 4-26 for Bognor.
Dave Galea hit 60 not out to take Pagham to an eight-wicket win at Ifield after they bowled out the hosts for 137.
Guy Thorne made 143 in a Slinfold total of 239 at home to Goring, whom they then dismissed for 88 as Ali Awcock took 6-48.
Matt Swell was the architect of Steyning's one wicket win against Findon. He hit 49 as they chased a Findon total of 128.
