Burgess Hill U12 girls reached the plate final in the south regional finals held at Merchant Taylors’ School, Rickmansworth.

After two solid opening draws against Southgate and Haslemere they struggled against a fine Reading team, who finished fourth overall.

In the knockout stages they played excellent hockey with convincing wins over Barnes and Buckingham (who had beaten Eastbourne, so we were the top side in Sussex).

The plate final was a game too far, as fatigue meant we lost to a fitter, faster and stronger Epsom team, but it was a valiant team effort to score a good goal when the game was effectively over.
