Carey leads Burgess Hill Runners home in Mel's Milers 10k

Marie Carey led the blue army at the Mel's Milers 10k last weekend with her time of 53:21.

Following her was Bev Navesey (59:48) and Clare Peake (1:15:54).

Matthew Cawthra opted for the 21 mile event at Cranleigh last weekend and completed it in a cracking time of 3:01:57. Meanwhile Oliver Dewdney went for the 15 mile option, completing that in 2:14:13.

Meanwhile Jonathan Herbert completed the Jogshop 20 in 3:00:27.

The club also held their annual awards night on Thursday. Finally, John Palmer and James Sorbie represented the club at the K2 in Crawley where there was an open athletics event. Blustery conditions made running interesting for the pair. James completed the 1500m event in 4:59.39. John took on the 80m and 300m completing them in 12.16 and 49.22 respectively.
