TWO Warden Park teams qualified for the Sussex finals of a schools badminton tournament and the KS3 boys team lifted the title to go through to next month’s national finals in Guildford.

In the Sussex finals at the K2 in Crawley, the boys team of Joe White, Charlie Hills, Nathan Jones and Daniel Hatton won all three box matches and in the semi finals claimed a comfortable victory over Holy Trinity.

In the final they came up against Uckfield, whom they had beaten 3-2 in an ultra-tight group meeting. Again it proved mighty close before Park squeezed through by the same scoreline, courtesy of a 21-18 in the last game.

The KS3 girls team fought hard against strong opposition containing several county players but bowed out at the group stage.
