Saints slammed

A massive 10-wicket defeat for St James's Montefiore was good news for their victors Stirlands as they closed the gap on Sussex League Division 2 leaders Chichester, who were held to a draw at Middleton. Saints were rushed out for a paltry 75.

Tegan Naidoo with 51 and Brendan Hanley with 43 led Middleton to 178 all out as Richard Logan took 4-34. Chichester then replied with 153-8 as John Edwards top scored with 26 and Tom Seaman took 3-25.

Second placed Bexhill also drew as Pulborough's Max Barson had a good game. He took 5-40 as the visitors were dismissed for 222, of which Jon Haffenden hit 76 and Richard Harrison 47. In the reply of 204-9, Barson contributed 55 and Matt Crump 48, with Rob Hoad taking 5-57.

Glynde were sent tumbling to 134 all out at Roffey, for whom Luke Barnard took 4-8.

In a winning Roffey score of 135-3, George Fleming and Simon Shivnarain each made 41 not out.
