Saints slump to leaders
St James's Montefiore proved no match for Sussex Cricket League Division 2 leaders Chichester, who made it six wins in eight starts with a crushing nine-wicket home success.
The visitors were restricted to 187-9 as only James Cameron-Dow (51) offered much resistance. Mark Bamford took 3-20 and then cracked 94 not out as he shared a big stand with John Edwards (78no).
Bexhill sent Littlehampton tumbling to 93 all out with Chris Topp taking 4-5 and Sean Austin 4-43. In reply David Lowery hit 62 not out to give the hosts a 10-wicket win.
Worthing declared at 201-8 at home to Roffey thanks chiefly to skipper Dominic Clapp (77) as Luke Barnard took 3-65. Roffey were then bowled out for 166 as Andy Lutwyche took 4-61.
Skipper Rohit Jagota made exactly 100 as Pulborough were dismissed for 188 by Middleton, for whom Tegan Naidoo took 5-28. It was close at the end, with the visitors on 181-9. Ben Hanford hit 56 and Naidoo 42, while Phil Roper took 4-46.
There was an amazing run chase by Stirlands at Glynde after the home side had made 299-3 declared with 155 not out from Joe Adams and 54 by Callum Smith. Sean Heather hit 98 and Anthony Ender 92 as the visitors won by five wickets.
