Only six overs were bowled at a soggy St. Helen’s ground at Swansea, before the rain came sweeping in from the Bristol Channel and there was no play after 10.50am in Sussex Royal London Cup game against Glamorgan.

Sussex won the toss and decided to bowl first, which proved a good decision as Glamorgan’s openers crawled to 9 for 0 after six overs.

Will Bragg and Jacques Rudolph had to contend with an accurate spell from Alfonso Thomas and Chris Liddle, but the weather had the last word with the game called off at 4pm.

Glamorgan had replaced long serving wicketkeeper Mark Wallace with Chris Cooke, the first time for Wallace to be left out of the side since July 2011.

He is, however, likely to be recalled for the four-day championship game which starts at the same venue on Thursday.
