Sussex’s paceman Tymal Mills made his England debut against Sri Lanka in a T20 tonight (Tuesday) at the Ageas Bowl.

England won the game by eight wickets after bowling Sri Lanka out for 140.

The 90mph man went bowled the second over, following the first over from Sussex team mate Chris Jordan, and went for seven runs off his first six balls.

Jordan almost completed a run out in that over but the ball just missed the stumps with the Sri Lankan opener out of his ground.

But in the third over Mills was involved in a wicket, catching Kusal Perera off Liam Plunkett’s bowling.

Mills’ second over went for five runs and his third, which included a run out, went for four runs.

In his final over, he went for six runs and finished with figures of 0-22 from four overs.

Hampshire’s Liam Dawson picked up three wickets on his debut as Sri Lanka limped to 140 all out.

Jordan finished with 3-29 including two wickets in the final over.

In reply, Jason Roy and James Vince fell early but Jos Buttler (73 not out) and Eoin Morgan (47 not out) guided England to a comfortable win.
