Football pundit and TV presenter Jimmy Hill opened the new South Downs Heritage Centre in Hassocks, West Sussex, at a VIP ceremony on Friday afternoon.
The new tourist attraction, at South Downs Nurseries on the A273 just north of Brighton then opened to visitors after six months of planning and construction.

It showcases everything connected with the heritage of the South Downs area.

"The first weekend was incredibly busy", according to spokesman Trevor Butler. "It's really wonderful that so many people want to know about our area's history and how things used to be done."
