Changing lifestyles are making income generation harder for one of the historic treasures of Mid Sussex.
The Victory Hall in Balcombe was built in 1923 and houses the stunning World War One frescoes by the artist Neville Lytton.
The War and Peace paintings were done from drawings in the artist's own notebook scribbled while he served in Flanders with the Royal Sussex Regiment.
But the income-generating use of the hall is changing as people stay at home in the evenings rather than take part in traditional activities like bingo and Saturday night dances.
Now the management committee are trying to find new ways of generating income to help maintain and preserve this national treasure.
