BIG crowds at the Haywards Heath spring festival got a sunshine break before the April showers set in again this week.
The warm weather brought out hundreds of people to enjoy the stalls and attractions on Muster Green on Sunday afternoon against a colorful backdrop of spring flower-bed displays of tulips prepared by the town council's gardening staff.
The Haywards Heath Concert Brass band entertained the large crowd and youngsters enjoyed puppet shows and fairground attractions.
Local organisations ranging from the League of Friends of Princess Royal Hospital to Help For Heroes charity took the opportunity to show off their activities and in some cases seek new members.
Town council staff organised the afternoon and town clerk Carole Preston said: "It was a beautiful day. The crowds kept coming and we are very happy with the result.
"Last year the weather was OK until just before the end when it was cold and wet, and the year before it really rained hard, so we were due to have a good one."
