ONE of the biggest tourist attractions in the South East opened its gates to the public yesterday.
Amid tight security, Princess Alexandra opened the South of England Show at the Ardingly showground, with attractions for all the family from equestrian events through to craft displays, rare breeds, food and craft halls, floral displays and shows in the arena.
The show, hosted by the South of England Agricultural Society, attracts more than 90,000 visitors from across Europe and runs for three days from 9am to 6pm, ending on Saturday, June 13.
Traffic is likely to be very heavy on the approach roads to the showground.
