Two new faces have joined the festival committee, Deepali Deshpande and Victoria Dilly, who are working hard to make sure the 2016 festival is successful.

Victoria is known for setting up The Book Activist (www.thebookactivist.com), a new venture that supports and encourages reading through schools, the local community and at home.

She is focusing on children and is using her literary contacts to give this year’s programme a strong literary flavour.

Victoria said: “I am delighted to be working with the wonderful Arts Festival Committee and am very excited about the prospects of bringing authors, creative writing and storytelling to the High Street.”

This year’s literary line-up includes award-winning Young Adult author Eve Ainsworth (www. eveainsworth.com) who will talk about her writing experiences.

Inkpots (www.inkpots.org), a Burgess Hill based group for young people who love reading, writing and drawing, will be running creative writing workshops.

Mr Dilly’s World of Wonder aims to bring tales to life through interactive storytelling, while independent bookshop The Book Nook (www.booknookuk.com) is set to run a pop-up shop during the weekend.

Lindfield has hosted its annual Arts Festival since 2010, which has helped the village become a creative hub in Mid Sussex.
