Hot on the heels of this year’s acclaimed production of La Cage Aux Folles and last October’s award-winning performance of Calamity Jane, Crawley’s COS Musical Theatre deliver another main-stage spectacular at the Hawth, Thoroughly Modern Millie
The show is a high-spirited musical romp that has all New York dancing the Charleston, said COS committee member Terry Stanley.
“It’s the zany 1920s musical that has taken Broadway by storm!
“Filled with frisky flappers, dashing leading men and a dragon-lady villainess audiences love to hate, Thoroughly Modern Millie is a perfectly-constructed evening of madcap merriment. And, with the role of Millie Dillmount, musical theatre has found a new heroine for the ages in Thoroughly Modern Millie.
“Some musical theatre groups noted dwindling audiences and memberships in recent years, but COS musical theatre has really bucked the trend. Our casts, crews and all who work so hard behind the scenes are a fantastic bunch of really committed professionals. It’s the quality of our shows that has so often attracted loyal and enthusiastic audiences. Amateur theatre has rarely been so good and we were delighted recently to accept a NODA Regional Award for Excellence.”
Performances start at 7:30pm from Wednesday-Saturday, October 24-27. Saturday 27 also has a matinee performance starting at 2.30pm.
