The first ‘Search for a Star’ talent competition will showcase Burgess Hill performers with star quality on Saturday (July 19).

Visitors and judges in The Martlets Shopping Centre will watch Bright FM’s Rick Daley, Martlets centre manager Ian Goodridge and Andy Penfold, a Simon Cowell lookalike among others.

The winning performer will receive £350, with prizes of £100 for second place and £50 for third.

Ian Goodridge, centre manager at The Martlets Shopping Centre, said: “We’ve had an astounding response to our call out and were absolutely inundated with applications from talented acts, all keen to participate in our talent competition, so we’re really excited to be holding our first ‘Search for a Star’ at The Martlets Shopping Centre.

“The contest looks set to be very entertaining so we invite members of the local community to come along and prepare to be star-struck!”
