The event takes place at St John’s Church, Broadbridge Heath, and St. Mary’s church in the Causeway, Horsham, from June 17-25.

Over the past seven years HPP has grown to become a week-long event at which amateur musicians of all ages and standards get the opportunity to perform for an audience and a professional adjudicator.

For 2017, the festival looks forward to welcoming back distinguished adjudicators Paul Harris (woodwind and brass), Richard Haslam (choirs) and Ben Costello (vocal). They will be joined by Ruth Gerald (piano) and Lesley Shrigley Jones (strings).

The emphasis of the festival is on participation, enjoyment and education, so there are no prizes to be handed out and every participant receives a certificate and an advice sheet.

The HPP team, led by chairman Kay Tucker, believes this is the reason for the steady growth of the festival, which has attracted more than 250 performers over the past two years.

The closing date for applications for this year’s festival is Friday, March 31.
