CRIME FILE: Fake charity workers, vandalism and lead theft in Worthing

ACTS of vandalism have in Broadwater and Worthing, a church roof damaged in Findon, and fake charity workers called at homes in Goring, are cases currently being investigated by police.
Car sprayed

GRAFFITI was sprayed on the window of a car parked near The Quashetts, Broadwater, between 8.25am and 6.30pm on Monday, September 1.

Laptop taken

A LAPTOP was stolen from Cook's Chemist, Broadwater Road, at 6am on Tuesday, September 2.

The thieves managed to get in to the shop after using a brick to smash a window.

Hospital theft

A HANDBAG was stolen from a communal area at Worthing Hospital sometime between 3pm and 3.30pm on Monday, September 1.

Window smashed

A BRICK was thrown through the back window of a new Vauxhall Vectra parked in Liverpool Gardens, Worthing, sometime overnight on Saturday, August 30.

Lead stolen

LEAD has been stolen from the roof of All Saint's Church in Findon Valley twice in two weeks.

Thieves stole 60 metres of lead, worth £1,500, from roof of the church in Cissbury Drive on Friday, August 29.

Two weeks earlier, a smaller amount was taken.

Fake RSPCA reps

BOGUS cold-callers pretending to be from the RSPCA have been knocking on front doors in Singleton Crescent, Goring.

Police have warned residents that genuine RSPCA representatives do not cold-call with collecting tins and ask for money.

Denton break-in

THIEVES broke into an office at the Denton Lounge, Marine Parade, during the afternoon of Thursday, August 28, and stole cash from a safe and personal items from handbags.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
