Arts centre providesplenty for new season

Shoreham’s Ropetackle Centre of Arts is offering a packed spring programme in the weeks ahead.

Spokesman Mark Phillips said: “The new brochure is available from the centre, on request, and in shops, businesses, and other outlets across the Adur district.

“Once again we’ve got a vast variety of events lined up including music, comedy, theatre, film, family events, our annual Beer Festival, and plenty more besides. 2014 is going to be something truly special at Ropetackle.

“Highlights include iconic Ultravox guitarist and co-founder of Live Aid Midge Ure (April 12) playing a special acoustic show, hilarious comic Arthur Smith (March 22), restaurant critic and BBC One Show presenter Jay Rayner (March 27), folk superstar Eliza Carthy and friends (February 14), Ska legends Bad Manners (April 4) with the irrepressible Buster Bloodvessel and an exclusive Question Time inspired evening with a panel featuring Baroness Andrews, Lord Oakeshott, and Simon Fanshawe (January 31).”

Mark is also promising ‘wonderful pop from former members of The Beautiful South (April 18) a night of rock from the sons of legendary supergroup Cream (February 19), magical family theatre bringing to life the stories of Rudyard Kipling (March 1) and Hans Christian Andersen (April 5), our fifth annual Ropetackle Beer Festival (February 21-22) and much, much more!”
