Band dash across district

Throbbin Hood will make a dash across Sussex from Horsham to Loxwood when they play two music festivals in one day.

Spokesman Ray Merridew said: “OK, it’s not quite what Phil Collins did flying from the UK to the USA but nevertheless it’s all part of the fun.

On Saturday, June 18, two music festivals will be taking place, one at Shelley School in Broadbridge Heath and one in the grounds at Loxwood North Hall.

“The Shelley School event will take place from around 2.30pm until 7pm which is aiming to raise money for the school. Some fantastic bands will be performing including Freakshow, Chinchilla Zilla, Solice and of course Throbbin Hood. There will be several other attractions and the whole family is welcome. It’s just £4 per adult (16+) and free for kids!

“Throbbin Hood will then leave the stage and rush across to Loxwood North Hall to perform at their event, probably going on stage at around 10pm. The Loxwood Beer Festival starts at about 2pm and eight bands will be performing this year. Some Old Guise will kick the event off, followed by Voodoo Rising, Aimee, The Beagles, Band With No Name, Sticky Bun, AIM and finally Throbbin Hood.

“The Loxwood Beer Festival, which has been going for eleven years now, will follow the usual format of fantastic live music, thirst-quenching booze, a mouth-watering hog roast, a sizzling barbecue, raffles, barrows of booze and fun in the sun for the kids. All of this designed to raise funds for Loxwood Pre-School. Tickets for the event are only £10 in advance via the website www.loxwoodbeerfestival.com (or £12 on the day).”
