Deborah Bonham and her band

Deborah - sister to drummer John - Bonham, brings her band to the Bullfrog Blues Club, Southsea, on Thursday, August 4 (http://webplus.barkingspider.abelgratis.com/tickets/).

The Bonham family tree is firmly rooted in musical tradition. First was John Bonham, the drummer for Led Zeppelin, who was followed by his son Jason, a skilled skinsman in his own right, who performed with Zeppelin at their much-hailed O2 show.

Also part of the pedigree is Deborah, who lives just outside Chichester.

Born in Worcestershire, Deborah was five years old when John joined Led Zeppelin - an introduction which sparked in her the overwhelming desire to write and perform.

Recently seen on UK Tour as special guest with Nazareth and also alongside Ozzy Osbourne at RipFest in the Czech Republic (she returned for shows in January 2011), Deborah and the band have begun recording tracks for her new album with Duchess producer Glenn Skinner. On drums will be Marco Giovino (Robert Plant’s Band of Joy), along with guests Dave Pegg (Fairport Convention, Jethro Tull), Charles O’Connor (Horslips), Gordon Giltrap, John Hogg (Moke) and pedal steel supremo BJ Cole.
