Ever-popular Chilli Fiesta starts

One of the UK’s largest and most popular chilli events has started today (Friday August 7) in West Sussex and continues this weekend.

West Dean’s Chilli Fiesta is a family-friendly festival in the stunning surrounds of West Dean Gardens and against the backdrop of West Dean College, near Chichester.

Opening times are 10am - 11pm on Saturday (last entry 8pm) and 10am - 9pm Sunday (last entry 7pm).

To give a real party atmosphere to the weekend there is live music from midday until 9pm on today and Saturday and 6pm on Sunday.

When the main stage closes the party continues in the Paradiso Latino Cabaret Tent with more live music and a 1990s disco on Saturday night (open until 11pm).

Watch food demonstrations in the Cookery Theatre, sample some delicious delights and there will be plenty of food stalls to keep your hunger pangs at bay.

For children there is a Vintage Fun Fair (small charge applicable), Rock Workshops, Face Painting, Punch & Judy and new for this year The Great Chilli Throwing Challenge

Watch food demos, sample some delicious delights and be tempted by a variety of food stalls or a visit to the Gardens Restaurant.

Browse over 180 stalls and there will be a great variety of quirky gifts on offer as well as chilli foods, chilli plants, seeds

And of course, don’t forget the stars of the show and the reason why West Dean Gardens has become a magnet for all things chilli.

Visit the Glasshouses in the Walled Garden, brimming with over 250 varieties of chilli.
