One competition designed to develop young talent

Rock, pop and music competition The One returns in 2015 and plans to be bigger and better than ever.

In 2015 it is being expanded to cover West Sussex, East Sussex, Kent and Hampshire, with music academies and studios in Chichester, Tunbridge Wells, Haywards Heath and Hastings already lined up to support the competition.

The One is for bands and solo artists aged from 11 to 24 who will have a chance to progress through auditions to semi-finals and then on to a grand final at the Martlets in Burgess Hill on Saturday, March 14.

Promoter Robert said: “A team of music industry judges will select the bands and solo artists for the finals where winners will be chosen by both the audience and judges. A special award will also go to the most original artist or band.

“The One is a competition designed to develop young talent, give artists avenues into live performance and build up confidence. We strongly believe that artists should keep their unique styles and we seek to support them as they develop their talents. The One is a great opportunity to perform in front of a large public audience and we encourage bands and artists to get involved.”

Entry into The One 2015 is free. Applications are open now and close on Monday, January 26. Winners will be offered a promotional photo shoot, music video, online recording and an invitation to perform at a live winners showcase.

Applications can be made via The One website or by email to [email protected]. To talk about the competition contact Robert Eggleston on 0794 779 2033.
