Park is rocking

Queen Elizabeth Country Park will be rocking this weekend to the south’s top bands and world-famous musicians.

Lucy Conder, event co-ordinator, said: “Rock The Park 2011 will take place on the weekend of July 23-24, with one simple goal, to raise as much money for Help 4 Heroes as possible, whilst providing an array of entertaining acts for your enjoyment.

“Bands such as Emerald, St John’s Wood Affair, Nonpology and Porter will take to the stage with tunes to suit everyone’s taste.”

Lucy added: “The team behind Rock The Park set up the initiative to support troops from the Falklands, Gulf War and Afghanistan when they return home. Unfortunately, it can often be the case that when they come home, there is little support after everything they have experienced.”

Online ticket prices start at £20 per adult per day, free camping and free for children under 16. Ten per cent of ticket sales will support Help 4 Heroes. Tickets can be bought on the gate.

Gates open at 11am on both days, with 11 hours of music each day, finishing 11pm. With the Help 4 Heroes marquee on site, it is hoped to raise in excess of £35,000 over the weekend.
