ROOTS Around The World return to the Empire Hall, Graffham, on Saturday December 18 to present their annual Christmas Party with Congolese band Kasai Masai.

Organiser Mark Ringwood said: “As in previous years the Christmas Party night will feature optional Afro-Caribbean food and the African Night Fever DJs from Brighton.

“The featured 5-piece band, Kasai Masai, were central to Roots’ Dialog (corr) Project last year and they also performed at this year’s Petworth Festival.

“Their music is steeped in the traditional sound of the remote equatorial African villages which has a rhumba rhythm to it, and the band’s name is taken from a river deep in the heart of the rainforest.

“Led by the ‘Voodoo King’ Nickens Nkoso, the traditionally-dressed band play djembe, guitar, saxophone, bass guitar, and percussion to create an irresistible series of songs and tunes guaranteed to fill the dancefloor. There may even be some surprise guests! One thing’s for sure, no matter how cold it is outside there’ll be a hot steamy temperature inside!”

Mark added: “Tickets should be bought in advance to avoid disappointment and are available from 01243 774641 and 01243 781312. The show starts at 8pm and there’s a licensed bar which helps subsidise the evening.”
