Singers’ festive season

Hurstpierpoint Singers have a busy festive season coming up with two major performances.

On Saturday, December 3 they will be in action at St Peter’s Church, Henfield at 7.30pm.

Spokeswoman Becky Furner said: “Together with the Sinfonia da Chiesa and soloists, and led by our inspirational musical director Stephen Hope, the choir will be performing the beautiful Oratorio de Noel by Saint-Saens.

“The choir will also be presenting works by Elgar, Purcell and Schubert, and there will be a selection of pieces by the Sinfonia da Chiesa.”

Tickets are £10 for adults and £5 for children and are available from Janton News in Hurstpierpoint, Pavilion Electrics in Hassocks, Stevens Estate Agents in Henfield, choir members or on the door.

The Hurstpierpoint Singers will be back on Sunday, December 18 for their Christmas Carol Concert at 2.30pm in the Village Centre, Trinity Road, Hurstpierpoint.

“Get into the Christmas spirit with wine and mince pies (included in the ticket price) and enjoy the uplifting music at a wonderful community event,” Becky said. “Bring the family and participate!”
