Surrealistic housewife at Guildford

A regular on the sketch and stand-up circuit, Bridget Christie – Housewife Surrealistic comes to the Mill Studio at Guildford’s Yvonne Arnaud Theatre on Saturday, July 7.

Join Bridget Christie as she hands out communion wafers, eats a banana, explains religion, suggests how Ken Clarke should eat a toad in the hole and re-enacts The Ascension of Christ using a fishing rod.

Bridget Christie is a regular panelist on Radio 4’s News Quiz and The Broadcasting House Programme. She has starred in a number of TV and radio comedies including Sarah Millican’s Support Group, Miranda Hart’s House Party, Cardinal Burns’ E4 series, and Harry Hill’s Little Internet Show.

She has written and performed six critically-acclaimed consecutive solo shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe – The Cheese Roll, The Court of King Charles II, The Court of King Charles II - The Second, My Daily Mail Hell, A Ant, and Housewife Surrealist – all of which have been comedy picks. Her 2010 show, A Ant, was in the Top 10 best reviewed shows for that year and was featured in BBC2’s The Culture Show.

Bridget was a finalist in Funny Women 2004, nominated for the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2005, won the inaugural Funny Women Best Show Fringe Award 2007 and was nominated for the Chortle Best Breakthrough Act 2009. She is currently working on a script loosely based on The Mitford sisters, called The Flappers, and hopes to stage it sometime next year.
