Comedy capers and an odd curse

Burgess Hill Theatre Club is up and running with its 49th annual pantomime, Beauty and the Beast.

Spokesman Peter Gooding said: “Why not come along for a show full of comedy capers, dazzling dames and beastly baddies?

“Join our Beauty as she falls in love with a Prince cursed to become a beast by the Wicked Weed and her dastardly sidekick, the lord chief constable.

“Zip the Doodah tries to save the day along with the help of Beauty’s rambunctious sisters Marigold and Daffodilly.

“But watch out for the evil Weed. She could be anywhere, just making mischief!

“Beauty and the Beast marks the Burgess Hill Theatre Club’s 49th pantomime, so they are really looking forward to celebrating their golden Panto anniversary next year. However, why not pull up a chair for this year’s performance? If you’re extra good, you might get some sweeties!”

The panto runs at The Martlets Hall over the next two weekends; Fridays, January 17 and 24 at 7pm, Saturdays, January 18 and 25, at 2pm and 6.30pm and Sunday, January 19, at 2pm.

Tickets are priced at £8.50 each and are available at the Theatre Club box office located opposite the post office every Saturday and Wednesday 10am-1pm, or by calling 01444 242984.
