“The comedy on offer is so good that audiences are going to have a hard time choosing what to see,” said Lorraine.

“I’d book it all if I could. With Jonathan Pie (October 7) and Romesh Ranganathan (November 12) already sold out, that narrows the options a little but it’s still an impressive line-up with Kerry Godliman (October 20), Nish Kumar (October 26), Al Murray (November 23) and Russell Kane (November 29) all making a welcome return while Ellie Taylor (November 16) and Lee Hurst (January 20) are heading to Crawley for the first time. Choices, choices, choices!”

There are theatrical treats too, with the The Shawshank Redemption (October 10-15) coming to the stage for one week only. The Studio offers The Haunting of Exham Priory (October 4), Fringe First Award winner The Collector (October 19) and Pride and Prejudice (November 10).

Lorraine continued: “Theatre legends don’t come much bigger than Tommy Steele and The Hawth is thrilled to be welcoming the song and dance man in The Glenn Miller Story (September 27 to October 1). Brought to the stage in a brand new musical spectacular, this is the life, fame and vanishing of America’s most famous big band leader.

“Music fans can look forward to a great night out, whatever their preference. 10cc (October 3) are back celebrating their 40th year in the music business, That’ll Be The Day (October 6) has a brand new show and the Russian State Opera is back with Bizet’s greatest piece, Carmen (October 7). The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (October 22) perform their first concert of the new Hawth Classical Season, while lovers of the king of rock ’n’ roll will be delighted to see The Elvis Years (November 15) live on stage. The Sensational 60s Experience (November 22) will bring back the swinging decade, but if blues is more your thing, don’t miss the sensational Guy Davis and Brooks Williams (November 14).”

Ballet enthusiasts can look forward to the Russian State Ballet and Opera House presenting Swan Lake (November 2) and The Nutcracker (November 3). Moscow City Ballet offer Romeo and Juliet and Sleeping Beauty in January.

Young ones can enjoy Monstersauraus (October 8), David Walliams’ Gangsta Granny (November 10-12) and the Hawth’s panto Peter Pan (December 9 to January 2).

Lorraine said: “The pantomime this year stars EastEnders’ Emma Barton as Tinkerbell, Shaun Williamson (EastEnders, Extras) as the menacing Captain Hook and children’s favourites Richard David-Caine and Joseph Elliott from CBeebies Swashbuckle.”

As usual, there are films, live screenings and exhibitions to look forward to in the Curzon Cinema as well.
