Debut comedy

Barnstormers gains a new Sussex venue when it adds Worthing’s Dome Cinema to its list of comedy outlets (Thursday, October 6, 8pm).

The Sussex comedy promoters will take over the Dome on the first Thursday of each month - and are hoping for a good turn-out for the debut show.

Spokesman Stephen Newberry said: “Each month our compere will introduce three different top acts from the London circuit, mainly Comedy Store regulars. With nearly 20 comedy clubs, Barnstormers Comedy prides itself on finding the funniest, cleverest and maybe even silliest comedians out there. Sarah Millican, Paul Sinha, Milton Jones, Andi Osho, Felix Dexter, Imram Yusuf, Jeff Innocent, Jo Caulfield and Lee Nelson are just some of the acts who have performed on a Barnstormers stage in the last year or two.

“For the opening night (in Worthing), compere Craig Murray introduces loveable Eddy Brimson, vibrant Philberto and cheeky Simon Fox.

“Eddy Brimson is a familiar face on the UK comedy circuit and is a regular at such prestigious venues as Jongleurs, Banana Cabaret, Belfast Empire and London’s notorious Up The Creek. He also performs regularly all over the country for the likes of Off The Kerb, Avalon and Mirth Control. In 2001 Eddy performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe as part of the hugely-successful Gilded Balloon Midnight Show.

“Philberto has been enjoying the English comedy circuit for the past two years, during which time he has established himself as a headline act. A regular at Jongleurs, The Comedy Store, The Comedy Cafe and a favourite at The Banana Cabaret as well as headlining at many university and club gigs across the country, Philberto has a vibrant energy and hard-hitting style that makes twenty minutes disappear in the blink of an eye.

“Simon Fox has established himself as one of the UK’s best-loved live comedians. Whether in The Comedy Store or Jongleurs, or further a field in Singapore, Hong Kong or Dubai, his sharp material, rapid-fire delivery and relaxed stage presence have made him the ideal choice for any event.”
