Edinburgh Fringe comes to Sussex at Danny’s Comedy Club

Boasting an exclusive Edinburgh Fringe comedy act this month, Danny’s Comedy Club has announced its latest bill for its show at the Birch Hotel in Haywards Heath, next Friday, July 26.

Despite the hot weather, a Wimbledon Mens’ semi-final and a change of venue, Danny’s Comedy Club continued to pull in ever bigger audiences at its last show, held on the last Friday of the month.

The Club is the brainchild of Sussex-based Comedy producer Daniel Kington, who said; “Since Day One attendance has risen significantly at every gig with audiences coming from as far away as Hastings just to see the show.

“This popularity, combined with the excellent venue and the way we welcome everyone who crosses our threshold, ensures the acts blossom and engage with the audience in a relaxed atmosphere of mutual banter.”

With no fewer than seven acts and a singer appearing at every show, Danny’s Comedy Club sets out to deliver both value for money and variety to local audiences.

Daniel said: “Times are hard for many these days, so we need to find innovative ways to bring in good quality entertainment people need to take them away from their troubles for a few hours, but at a price many can still afford.”

Danny’s Comedy Club is fortunate in being able to draw upon a large pool of talent from around both London and Brighton, as well as further afield.

Joining Daniel at the Birch Hotel on July 26 will be another top quality line up:

Originally from Ipswich, Adam Race’s pacey, cheeky-chappie style will always be a winner with audiences. Adam is a well-known veteran of the comedy scene performing at Brighton’s Komedia and dozens of other top comedy venues across the UK.

A busy writer and comedian now in constant demand at Clubs across southern England, Adie Knight is the thinking man’s comic whose laugh-out-loud insights on human relationships, politics and social commentary regularly have his audience rolling in the aisles.

Originally from Lewisham, talented wordsmith and comedian Ben Clover is also a graduate of the prestigious Royal Court Young Writers programme.

A popular name on the comedy scene, Dave Seymour has been performing for two years now and has won competition heats in the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year, Golden Jester New Act of the Year, and he recently won the Cambridge Footlights heat of the Chortle! Student Comedy Awards as well.

A graduate of the Jill Edwards Comedy School, Latest 7 magazine describes him as “The unique party animal that is Kayo Opebiyi – rabble rousing and entertaining.”

Likened to an Indian Homer Simpson, internet sensation Mark Silcox regularly has audiences rolling in the aisles with his jaw-dropping one liners. Mark admits: “My wife doesn’t know that I do stand-up comedy. I told her a false name when I married to her. She will never find out. This is the only small secret I keep apart from other big ones.”

Well known Haywards Heath singer, Cylvian Flynn has fronted several bands in recent years as well as solo ventures performing at theatres and music events large and small to great acclaim. She has performed widely across the region, generating a significant local following and her own fan base.

And headlining this month in his build-up to yet another sell-out show at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe, Danny’s Comedy Club is welcoming pro comedian Sean McLoughlin, veteran of countless top comedy venues throughout the UK. According to The Scotsman, Sean has “a delicious edge to his delivery, showcasing a sardonic wit.”
