Electric Comedy Club ready for a busy autumn

The Electric Comedy Club in Guildford returns from its summer holiday for a busy autumn ahead.

Spokeswoman Caroline Bennett said: “Electric favourite and ‘failed in love’ dandy Earl Okin returns in November. Smooth, wry and cringingly-funny, Earl woos the ladies with his blues infused tales of love lost. Darkly comic and utterly hilarious, Earl Okin is a genuine one-off. Not to be missed.

“In October we welcome back the ever popular Geoff Whiting. A regular MC at The Electric, Geoff has quite the CV, working alongside David Mitchell, Armstrong and Miller and Dom Jolly. Our final club of the year features comedienne du jour Andi Osho, star of TV shows Mock the Week, C4’s Stand Up For The Week and Live at the Apollo.

“Kicking us off our first night (September 25, 7.45pm) is comedy dervish Matt Price. With the ability to leave audiences incapacitated with laughter, Matt’s improv is fast and unrelentingly funny. He might start his act on stage but beware, this guy likes to work the crowd from within. Watch out, he’s behind you!

“New Zealand-born Javier Jarquin has been creating quite a storm: finalist - Hackney Empire New Act of the Year, winner of the International Comedy Festival in Wellington NZ and sell-out performances at the Assembly Rooms at last year’s Edinburgh Festival. Jav however is not just your average comedian.

“He has another trick up his sleeve quite literally. Known as the Card Ninja, Jav is a master of the sleight of hand, and can make playing cards slice through objects with surprising precision.

“Finally Ali Brice is our stand-up newcomer. Ali has been writing and performing in hit Fringe productions as well as touring non-stop throughout the year. Having survived referring to a Scotsman’s sporran as his ‘bum bag’, Ali has managed a speedy retreat down south for a much-anticipated first gig here at The Electric Comedy Club.”
