Red-nosed students raise £760

Students from Ariel’s Burgess Hill and Haywards Heath Academies painted their faces and dressed up ‘funny for money’ to raise funds for Red Nose Day and Comic Relief.

Both children and tutors donned red noses, red hair and red faces, as well as bringing in cakes and snacks to sell, all to bring in money for the charity.

The fantastically funny faces included, blue Smurfs, green aliens, super heroes, creepy clowns and marvellous makeovers with moustaches, glasses, spots and, of course, red noses.

This year, Ariel raised an amazing total of £760 across their academies in Burgess Hill, East Grinstead, Crawley, Haywards Heath and Steyning. Burgess Hill and Haywards Heath academies together raised £360.

Ariel Director Nicci Hopson said: “It was such a fun day for all the Ariel students. They really went to town and created some wonderful faces. From the our young Hamlets, many who are just five years old, to our older students and tutors, everyone got into the spirit of Red Nose Day to raise money for this worthwhile cause.”

Ariel’s Drama Academies have supported Comic Relief for several years, with students and staff participating enthusiastically each Red Nose Day. Comic Relief is a major UK charity, working around the year towards the vision of a just world, free from poverty. Since 1985, the organisation and its many supporters have raised an incredible £950 million for those suffering from poverty, both in the UK and abroad.

Ariel’s talented young actors can be seen on stage in The Edelweiss Pirates, part of National Theatre Connections, from March 20 to 22, at The Ifield Barn, Crawley. Visit www.arielticketsource.co.uk to book your ticket.
