Top album titlefor festivalperformers

Following the success of Phil Henry and Hannah Martin being awarded the Best Duo category at the BBC Radio 2 folk awards in February, Festival in the Park headliners 3 Daft Monkeys have been awarded Best Album in the Spiral Earth Awards for their latest album Of Stones and Bones.

Festival organiser Simon Goodale said: “3 Daft Monkeys have built their reputation on an irresistibly-energetic, charismatic and colourful live act. Of Stones and Bones is an inventive, focused and thematically-pitched set of songs based around Cornish legends.

“It is the band’s folkiest record yet and will establish them not merely as a great live act but a very real force in the studio too.

“I have been lucky to have seen the acts we are bringing to Midhurst for Festival in the Park on many occasions, and the quality line-up we have put together is being backed up with award victories and rave reviews for artists visiting our town.

“Of Stones and Bones is a great album and a fully deserved win for our festival headliners. We look forward to welcoming them.”

A packed programme featuring some of the best acts on the festival circuit will be visiting Midhurst with the line-up including vibrant Celtic music from Crossharbour and Legacy; Phil & Hannah, and Daisy Trail and Ed Goodale with the evening culminating with The Outcast Band and festival headliners 3 Daft Monkeys.

There will be children’s entertainers; festival trade stalls; a variety of food outlets and a beer tent and bar.

Festival in the Park will be held at Woolbeding Parkland near Midhurst with gates opening at 1pm with the entertainment running through until dusk.

Advance tickets for the festival are priced at £5 for adults and £3 for children; children five and under are free.
