CRAWLEY Youth Theatre are looking for new members with a passion for performance.

The group which meets every Thursday is run by Crawley Community Arts and offers young people aged 13-18 the chance to work together on shows which are performed at The Hawth.

The group take on a wide variety of theatre styles and have performed shows as varied as teen drama Who Are Ya?, Arabian Nights and even an adaptation of Terry Pratchett’s Mort. Group member Flossie Joseph said: “CYT is fantastic! I’ve been a member for three years and we work hard on acting techniques, drama exercises and in rehearsals but it’s also great fun as it’s such a lively and creative group.”

Gemma Legrand, CYT leader said: “It’s a really friendly group, they’re really enthusiastic and always give their all. We’re about to start work on our next show which will be performed in The Hawth Studio in February, so now is the perfect time for new members to come along and get involved.”

New members do not need to have any previous experience of performing, just plenty of enthusiasm.

Crawley youth Theatre meet at Dormans Youth Arts Centre in Gossops Green on Thursday evenings. 6-7.30pm for ages 13 plus and 7.45-9.15pm for 15-18 years. Sessions are £3.50 per week.
