The post office was situated at Bolney Wine Estate in Foxhole Lane, but this closed on January 3.

An opportunity then arose to reopen the service in the centre of the village.

This hosted service was due to start in March, however, this was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

A spokesman said: “The Post Office is reopening a post office to Bolney in the village at Rawson Hall, The Street, Bolney, from August 28, at 10am.”

The service will be operated by the postmaster from Hurstpierpoint every Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 10am – 1.30pm.

The spokesman added: “Our priority is to safeguard Post Office services to the local community in the longer term and the re-opening of Bolney Post Office services at Rawson Hall will enable us to maintain a Post Office service to our customers in the local community in a more central location.”
