Two estate agents from Greenaway Residential, based in East Grinstead, found the bird after a house viewing in West Hoathly.

Using patience and a suit jacket, they were able to collect the buzzard and drive it to Medivets in Forest Row.

At 400g the buzzard weighed less than half the healthy weight, so Wildlife A&E were contacted to help nurse the bird back to health.

After two weeks of care the buzzard reached the target weight of 900g and was able to be released back into the wild near the Ashdown Forest.

Following the successful rehabilitation, Greenaway Residential donated £250 to the charity Wildlife A&E.

Darren Greenaway, managing director, said: “We are so lucky to be surrounded by areas of beauty like the Ashdown Forest and I’m very proud of our team members who showed such compassion.

“It’s a joy to know this buzzard is now healthy and back in the wild where it belongs.

“We expected a bill for the buzzard’s care but neither Medivets or Wildlife A&E asked for anything towards this rescue so we wanted to donate £250 to help towards the continued care of our local wildlife in need.”
