Rod Chinn, from High Hurstwood, who is a volunteer at Wings Museum, said: “The entry system will be protected by a genuine World War Two perspex screen at the desk with hand sanitiser available.

“The car park will be divided into entry and exit routes so all social distancing can be observed.

“There are many new exhibits to see so the curators are hoping to welcome many of their local supporters as well as visitors from both near and far who will, as always, enjoy the unique experience that the museums collection of artefacts and airframes gives.”

The museum will only be accepting card payments.

The Wings Aviation Museum is a voluntary organisation run by dedicated volunteers and is a registered charity.

The museum specialises in the conservation of Second World War aircraft that have been lost over time.
