Coronavirus: Burgess Hill District Lions Club’s Book Den closes

Burgess Hill District Lions Club has announced its Book Den in Church Walk will be closed until further notice due to the coronavirus crisis.

The Lions will also not hold meetings for 12 weeks and all charity meals have been cancelled.

Members are pictured celebrating the club’s 65th birthday. They were surprised with a large birthday cake from Mia Clift.

They also received a handmade card from pupils of Woodlands Meed School in Burgess Hill.

Tony Parris, secretary for Burgess Hill District Lions Club, told the Middy: “The sad part of the evening came when the Lion president John Rankin announced under guidelines issued by the government and Lions H.Q that The Book Den in Church Walk will be closed with immediate effect until further notice.

“We hope to be back in action as soon as we are allowed in the meantime please stay safe.”
