Horsham town centre store announces ‘soft opening’

A Horsham town centre has announced it will hold a ‘soft opening’ today, May 11.

In a statement on Facebook released on Saturday Carmela Deli in the Carfax said it will reopen seven days a week with some reduced services.

The shop will be open from 8am to 1pm.

A spokeswoman for the store said: “We will be following the social distancing guidelines and operating on an a doorstep order system, one customer at a time.”

A click and collect preorder system is coming soon to cut direct contact and reduce queues, according to the spokeswoman.

She said: “There will be a great range of food and essentials available, including flour, pasta, yeast, tomato sauce, biscuits as well as some of our amazing cakes and savoury food to take home and enjoy without the effort of cooking!

“We will also be offering a complimentary box of sweet treats per customer to welcome you back.”
