Developer Maxwelton House Property Co Ltd is seeking to demolish Maxwelton House in Boltro Road, Haywards Heath, and replace it with 56 flats.

The proposed new building, which is near Haywards Heath railway station, has a four-storey facade onto Boltro Road, half basement at ground level, and two upper floors that step back from the building line.

The plans include parking for 28 cars with cycle parking for future residents.

Simon Jamieson, one of the directors of Maxwelton House Property Company Limited, said: “We are really excited to be consulting on the current proposals. In doing so, we hope to fully understand and seek to address concerns the local community may have before we start the formal planning application process later this year.

“We would urge anyone interested to take a look at the consultation material and share their thoughts with us.”

One resident, Robert Wild, who has already been in touch, raised concerns over parking. “I have been asking the council to make parking available to residents for over a year and lift the one hour restriction at the north end of the street,” he said.

“The new development only proposes 28 spaces for 56 units and extra parking is likely to be displaced onto Muster Green and Paddockhall Road as it is currently for all other residents.”

In response, Andrew Metcalfe, one of the directors of Maxwelton House Property Company Limited, said: “We’re looking to hear all comments and concerns from interested parties. Hopefully this resident has responded to the consultation via the website.”
