Mr Harry Hastings – currently headteacher of Brighton College Prep School – has taught at both boarding and day schools including the Dragon School in Oxford and Cumnor House.

He will be moving to Ardingly College with his wife Kate and three children, Lizzie (11), Barnie (nine) and Rex (five).

Mr Hastings said: “It is an extremely exciting time to become part of Ardingly College.
“The school’s World Ready initiative is one that sits closely with my educational philosophy and I’m looking forward to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.”

Headmaster of Ardingly College Ben Figgis said: “Harry Hastings has an educational vision closely aligned to ours at Ardingly College and he is committed to the inclusive and all-round education that we offer here.”

Mr Hastings is stepping into the shoes of Chris Calvey, who will leave Ardingly at the end of this academic year to become headmaster of Great Walstead.

Ardingly College Prep School’s deputy head Jim Castle will be acting head in the autumn term, until Mr Hastings’ arrival.
