Chance to join ‘team’ programme

UNEMPLOYED 16 to 25 year olds are being offered the chance to join the 12-week Prince’s Trust personal development and training ‘Team’ programme.

Delivered by City College Brighton and Hove, the West Sussex programme seeks to improve young people’s employability through undertaking voluntary projects in the local community.

In a recent ‘team’ programme, a group of young people experienced an exciting range of activities including planning, teamwork and problem-solving in Dartmoor, a community project involving gardening and creating art-work at the Phoenix Centre and also a week at Graceland’s Residential Home where they engaged with and entertained elderly residents.

The team have also benefited from a diverse range of work placements, providing them with a taste of jobs such as dog groomer, electronic test engineer, teaching assistant and leisure assistant.

“My time on the Team programme has been very valuable,” said 20-year-old Alan Wills, who recently completed the programme.

“It helps you to learn new skills that prove useful in all facets of life, or discover skills you had but didn’t know it. If you’re looking for direction in life or to reinforce your skills and qualities, it could be perfect for you.”

If you’re unemployed and aged between 16 and 25 and would like to join the programme in January, text TEAM followed by your name to 07841 066846
