A-levels: Star performances at St Paul's

Students at St Paul's Catholic College are off to some of the country's top universities after achieving some fantastic A-level results.

Every student at the college in Jane Murray Way, Burgess Hill, gained passing grades, with 32 per cent achieving A* or A, 62 per cent receiving A*-B grades, and 86 per cent at A*-C.

Hilary Morfitt, director of Key Stage 5 achievement at the college, said: “These results are a testament to all the students and their dedicated teachers.

“We are really thrilled for them all.”

Headteacher Rob Carter added: “We are all very proud of the students and all they have achieved this year.

“It is great to see them flourish as they move on to the next chapter.

“This success is down to the hard work, commitment and focus over the last two years of students and the staff who have inspired them in the classroom day to day.”

One of the stand-out performances came from Ron Dou, who gained four A*s and will be studying natural sciences at Cambridge.

Other exceptional results included three or more A*and A grades for:

Siobhan Connellan, who will study music at Cambridge, Eleanor Crabtree (chemistry at Durham), Lucy Hagger (physiotherapy at Brighton), Kimberly Hallam (chemistry at Sussex), Connor Main (Spanish and politics at Bath) and Ellen Martin and Laurence Jones.

Other great results came from: Dan Bond, Phil Demetriades (Business Management, Oxford Brookes), Sebastian Robinson, Gabriella Schummer (Events Management, Plymouth), Connor Scott and Wade Stephens (Football Business and Media, Buckhingham) who got three or more A* and A grades including BTEC qualifications.
