Coronavirus: Burgess Hill Girls open day postponed

An open day inviting youngsters to try their hand at new things has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Burgess Hill Girls planned to host an event for children to take part in activities from the school’s list of 50 things for girls to try and complete before the age of five.

The school issued the challenge to youngsters across the country in February, inviting girls to have a go at activities such as flying a kite, making a smoothie, wash a car, and baking a cake.

However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the open day has been postponed, although it is hoped the awards will be rearranged for a later date.

The update posted on the Burgess Hill Girls website said: “It is with regret that due to the increasing concerns over COVID-19 that we feel it necessary to postpone the Nursery and Reception Open Day.

“As soon as we are able to provide you with a new date for this event we will be in touch.”
