Coronavirus cases plummet in Horsham, Crawley and Mid Sussex

The number of new coronavirus cases recorded in Horsham, Crawley and Mid Sussex has plummeted in the last week.

In the seven days to Tuesday, March 9, 21 people tested positive for coronavirus – 21 fewer than the week before.

The rate per 100,000 people has now dropped to 14.6. The rate across England is 62.8.

In Crawley 70 people tested positive, a drop of 46 on the previous seven days. This is a rate of 62.3.

In Mid Sussex, 38 positive tests have been recorded – compared to 95 in the previous seven days. This works out at a rate of 25.2.

Since the start of the pandemic Horsham has registered a total of 5,542 cases, Mid Sussex has registered 6,682 and Crawley 7,715.

In Horsham 202 people have died within 28 days of a positive test, an increase of seven in the last seven days.

In Mid Sussex 267 people have died, an increase of six. In Crawley 193 people have lost their lives, an increase of six, Government data show.
