Ditchling Fair cancelled amid coronavirus fears – all you need to know

This year’s Ditchling Fair has been cancelled amid the coronavirus.

Organisers thanked everyone who has helped and said they looked forward to welcoming people at the fair, next year, on Saturday, June 18.

Catharine Robinson, chairman of Ditchling Village Association, said: “This year our wonderful Ditchling Fair has had to be cancelled.

“It is of course no surprise but just another sad outcome of this awful virus.

“As one can imagine it does not mean that there has not been a huge amount of work already undertaken by the fair committee and I would like to thank them all for their hard work, in particularly our two wonderful chairmen, Simon Woplin and Jack Daniels.

“They were responsible for the last fair, which was brilliant, and I am sure it would have been even better this year.

“I am sure you are all aware that the committee have arranged the Scare Crow competition and I believe there are ten entries with a closing date of April 30.

“There will be information as to their location and ‘how’ to view them without going against official guidelines!

“Again a very BIG thank you to everyone who has helped and we look forward to the next one on Saturday, June 18, 2022!”
