Horsham coronavirus cases halve in a week

In the seven days to Tuesday, February 23, 62 people tested positive for coronavirus – 75 fewer than the week before.

The rate per 100,000 people has now dropped to 43.1.

In Crawley, 154 people tested positive, a drop of 61 on the previous seven days. This is a rate of 137.

In Mid Sussex, 114 positive tests have been recorded – compared to 127 in the previous seven days. This works out at a rate of 75.5.

Since the start of the pandemic Horsham has registered a total of 5,444 cases, Mid Sussex has registered 6,563 and Crawley 7,500.

In Horsham 190 people have died within 28 days of a positive test, an increase of six in the last seven days.

In Mid Sussex 251 people have died, an increase of six. In Crawley 185 people have lost their lives, an increase of five, Government data show.
