Horsham coronavirus infection rate falls to less than a third of national average

In the seven days to Tuesday, February 23, 42 people tested positive for coronavirus – 20 fewer than the week before.

The rate per 100,000 people has now dropped to 29.2. The rate across England is 97.1.

In Crawley, 116 people tested positive, a drop of 38 on the previous seven days. This is a rate of 103.2.

In Mid Sussex, 95 positive tests have been recorded – compared to 114 in the previous seven days. This works out at a rate of 62.9.

Since the start of the pandemic Horsham has registered a total of 5,523 cases, Mid Sussex has registered 6,563 and Crawley 7,660.

In Horsham 195 people have died within 28 days of a positive test, an increase of five in the last seven days.

In Mid Sussex 261 people have died, an increase of ten. In Crawley 187 people have lost their lives, an increase of two, Government data show.
